The EV1 Wish List

... a special list from Kevin Nealon

If the GM engineers are paying attention, the 1999 models could be pretty interesting...

  1. Tell us what "EV" stands for. Is it a secret code?

  2. More bright, flashy lights on the LED display which should remain on while driving (to impress more people). Also another button to change the colors of the LED display lights. (could be fun!)

  3. Included in the price of the lease should be a helmet and a spiffy racing suit. (pinstriped preferrably)

  4. How about a gold trim package? (You can call it the "Classic Addition")

  5. An easier way to install snow chains!!! Please!!!

  6. Each control button on the console should have braille. (This is the 90's after all)

  7. Reduce size of steering wheel. (also add more lights and chrome or better yet, gold on it)

  8. I'm not a mechanical engineer but a luggage rack (streamlined of course) would be a fancy and useful addition for those long road trips to the mountains.

  9. The "coast-down" button should also allow you to click into "4WD". (N'est pas?)

  10. How's about some fins on the back? (Not only will they streamline the car more but also an attention getter.)

  11. Over-sized wheel option to attract more attention. (Fun for the teens)

  12. A realistic dummy option for using the car-pool lane. (Only for passenger seat)

  13. A cigarette lighter and a cigar lighter for "big shot" friends. (could be side-by-side on console replacing the window buttons.

  14. When you are in reverse, replace the annoying beeps with the hit song, "Macarena". (People will be dancing in the streets!!)

  15. Put wheels (and fins) on the portable charger so you can tow it behind allowing for more trunk space.
